Barrelhouse Blues & Boogie
Hailing
from Long Island NY, Tommy’s dedication to the Blues becomes apparent with the
very first note. Otis Spann, Professor Longhair, Pinetop Perkins, Johnnie
Johnson, Champion Jack Dupree, and Jimmy Smith influence his individual style,
encompassing elements of New Orleans Blues, Funk, Boogie and Jazz.
A recent performance was described in review as “He rocked the crowd
with boogie, jump and stride piano and his warm vocals.” –

Tommy has played the Riverhead Blues Festival for 4 consecutive years. Additionally he was chosen to participate in the Long Island Blues Talent Competition (LIBTC, to represent at the IBC in Memphis) in the electric band category (2003 The JumpStart Band), and in the solo acoustic category (2003, 2004 Tommy Keys).

SPEEDO'S BILLY ROSE BAND is a force of blues nature that has made its name by churning out classic rock, blues and originals, with male and female vocals alternating with Speedo Jones's soulful harmonica stylings. Speedo has been living the blues practically since birth. At age 14, he started playing harmonica professionally after hearing the sounds of Paul Butterfield and James Cotton. Speedo has jammed and recorded with Albert Collins, Charles Brown, Larry McCray, Climax Blues Band, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Mick Taylor and Kim Simmonds.

Cross Island Traffic is a fitting name for a band whose five members hail from Long Island, from East Patchogue to Jackson Heights and points in-between. A high energy blues/rock band covering songs by artists such as, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Clapton, Hendrix, Muddy Waters, early Stones and Animals, Allman Brothers, Sam Cooke, etc. The band is led by dual lead guitars/singers Pat Jaouen and Rog Young, combined with the lush Hammond organ sound of Tony "Fingers" Lana (not in photo), held together by the driving rhythm section of Bob Adams on bass and Ed Modzel on drums.

GRAMMY: We're in the running for a Grammy nomination! There are 54 other bands vying for 5 slots. We're up against legends like Koko Taylor and Otis Rush, as well as great artists like Kenny Wayne Sheppard and Watermelon Slim (to name just two). Wish us luck!
TOURS: We were planning on doing a European tour in May '08,. but we now found out that we're booked for some festivals in Luxembourg and Belgium in July. So, we're hoping to be able to do the gigs from May in July, adding Germany, the Netherlands and Austria to the itinerary.
Due to numerous factors, the fall '07 West Coast tour had to be postponed. We're hoping to be able to schedule it for fall of '08, if not before. Meanwhile, we're booking up for the winter and spring of '08 here on the East Coast.
CD: It's getting to be that time again. We're sifting through the new material and figuring out what to record for the new CD. Studio versions of the new tunes from the "Live" CD are a definite, plus we've got some great new material that we've been playing at live shows (no false modesty here, we really like them!) We're not setting a release date yet, as THIS time we want to have everything co-ordinated.

Under the direction of Producer, Arranger, and Multi-Keyboardist Lance Ong (David Sanborn, Grand Funk Railroad, Pointer Sisters, THE SHADES), together with Co-Writer & Vocalist Nicole Hart (Billy Joel, Harry Belafonte, THE SHADES), the original compositions & re-arrangement of Classic Blues & R&B material can only be described as: “N.R.G.-ized”! Audiences love the mix of the familiar & the innovative, a show that touches on everything from new Blues, R&B, Rock & Motown, too. Bringing the funky feel to the fore is virtuosic Bassist, Vonnie Hudson (THE SHADES), whose mesmerizing grooves lock tight with hard-hitting Percussionist & Drummer, Joe Piteo (Gil Parris), along with the fluid guitar work of top NYC Blues Guitarist, Rich Cohen (Rickie Lee Jones, Buddy Miles, Lucky Peterson). N.R.G. is often asked how to define our sound. According to The Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee, keeper of the official Blues flame, “Modern Electric Blues is an eclectic mixture … embracing both the old, the new and something that falls between the two… (and) pays homage to those vintage styles of playing while simultaneously recasting them in contemporary fashion. It can also be…the most forward looking of all blues styles, embracing rock beats and pyrotechnics and enlivening the form with funk rhythms and chord progressions that expand beyond the standard three that usually comprise most blues forms."

Well, if you walked into a New York Club that had The RoadHouse Jesters listed as that night’s band during this past October 2007 and you said to yourself, “I think I've seen these guys before.” You would have been correct! MOTU decided to put together a new “all star” performance band that could slip under the radar, and play incognito, so that he could record a LIVE road house blues type album in a small club setting! No mention of any performances was made on MOTU’s web site or advertised anywhere on any blogs or local bulletin boards. The new band was simply booked as “The RoadHouse Jesters”

Midnite Boogie Band is a 4 piece band playing the best of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, George Thorogood, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, Santana, The Doors and Muddy Waters. Pete was a session guitarist for Tears For Fears and David Bowie, a guitarist for Michael Monroe, co-writer of "Don't Dog Me" for Raging Slab and was jam-mates with Richie Blackmore and Brian Setzer, and his music gained airplay all across the country.

Night Train is an electric blues band consisting of vocalist Nancy Bahnsen, harpist/vocalist Bob Oven, guitarist Jimmy Goldstein, bassist Bob Muller and drummer Scott Wallace. The band performs covers of songs from the 1920s to the 21st century, along with some original material. Most songs are played with a more aggressive edge than the originals, but always with respect for the source.

With over 100 years combined musical experience, the three members of this band not only "play" the music, but they also have lived and experenced the music!!! The Dog House Blues Band is one of Long Island's top blues and blues/rock acts. They have performed at the Riverhead and Cedar Beach Blues Festivals as well as in many of the area's premier nightclubs and music venues. Its members bring many years of varied music experience and inspiration to the table and stir up a potent gumbo of rump rocking boogie and foot stomping blues.
