She soothes & rocks the house with her great guitar & beautiful voice. Her travels, with nature being a strong influence on her writing, have been many from the Atlantic Ocean in Queens to the Florida Keys & out west to California. Music has been a big part of Nancy Walter’s life for many decades now. She grew up in a house always filled with music. Her father loved to listen to country music and was always fiddling around on guitar and piano, so Nancy’s music roots are very Country oriented.

Her first band was a country western band called The Lucky Shot Band, which took off in the early nineties. After that she moved on to the Blues and then Rock and Roll, even moonlighting in several different wedding bands. She has been the Front Lead Singer now in the band My Favorite Mistake since 2003 playing guitar and singing anything from Patsy Cline to Led Zeppelin. You can even catch her now and then doing a solo acoustic show including original songs.

She has been sharing her talent now for over 25 years.

Lora Kendall

Lora Kendall is best known as a fiddle player, active on the local music scene, a much sought-out studio musician and sideman. She has performed with friends from all walks of life and genres of music. Currently, Lora is a member of the fabulous Americana band, “Tornado Alley,” and an old-time country band, “The Red River Ramblers.” She’s one-half of the musical duo “Korb & Kendall” (the other half is the amazing Ken “the Rocket” Korb), partners with jazz keyboardist, Paul Gene, whenever possible; and plays with an all-female (banjo-fiddle-guitar) trio, “Angelline.” A hallmark of all these groups is instrumental diversity and vocal harmony.
Like most of the finest “fiddle” players, Lora is a “classically trained” violinist. She was given her first violin at age nine, and has been playing classical music ever since. She was selected for All-State (NY) on viola her junior year in High School, and for All-Northeast Regional as a senior. She won a scholarship to the prestigious Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where she studied Music Education. To this day, she continues to play classical music as a violinist in the Sound Symphony, the premiere orchestra of Eastern Long Island. She also sings in and directs a church choir; and teaches violin, viola, piano and voice privately. The music of the baroque composers, especially Bach, is her favorite for listening and playing.
And in answer to your unspoken question, the only difference between a “violin” and a “fiddle” is the way you play it!
